Chief Investment Officer

Tom de Lange, CIO of Emperor Asset Management, is a Metallurgical Engineer by profession. Tom has been an active investor on the JSE since 1981. Over the last 25 years he has averaged a compound annual return of 20% and 35% over the last 15 years. He has extensive experience in various instruments, including shares, warrants, futures, spread trading and CFD's.

Over the years Tom has developed several quantitative models and indicators that form the core of his investment strategy and combined with his vast computer programming experience and risk simulation knowledge he has developed a truly unique investment system.

Tom manages equity and long/short CFD portfolios for individual clients based on his active quant strategy.

Head of Asset Management

London's HSBC Investment Bank and other leading investment banks in the city provided a 5-year foundation for Flynn Robson. He started in 2001 as a traders' assistant and went on to work in several front and back office environments. Flynn moved back to South Africa to join the group as Operations Manager, to build a global level support team. From there he soon moved up to Head of Operations and then to Head of New Business Development.

Head of Risk

Andrew has been involved in financial markets since 1991. He has traded in the foreign exchange, equity and fixed income derivatives markets. Andrew provides training services in risk management, portfolio management and capital market products to international investment banks. Andrew joined the group in December 2007 to facilitate the risk management and product development activities of the group.

Head of Operations & Client Services

Ferial Patel joined the group in November 2007. She is the Head of the Operations and Client Service division.

Marketing Manager

Almero joined the group as Marketing Manager in March 2010, after spending 4 years in London in the television production industry and 3 years in the publishing industry, with Ramsay Media. Almero is responsible for the marketing and public relations.

Junior Fund Manager

TC joined the group in July 2010 as a Junior Fund Manager and is responsible for the administration of the Falcon Scott fund and works closely together with the group CIO. TC is in the process of completing his CFA qualification and holds a BSc: Actuarial and Financial Mathematics from the University of Pretoria .
